The Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation team or TAVI team at Jessa Ziekenhuis successfully completed two implants of a new type of percutaneous aortic prosthetic valve in October 2014. For these patients the traditional procedure is too risky or impossible. Intervention cardiologist Dr. Edouard Benit and cardiac surgeon Dr. Urbain Mees explain.
